My name is Laketra Wiggins-Jones and life as I once knew it is different now. I attend Tennessee State University where classes are being held online. Due to COVID-19, Different places are shut down and no one can go outside for unnecessary reasons. New rules have been put in place and the CDC are working together for the public safety of the people. Daily life is to be taken with precaution measures, and until further notice, it's the new way of life for us.
Although these unfortunate events have led all of us to feel overwhelmed and maybe even eery, I found some good in them. One of my new hobbies I’ve picked up is playing the violin in which I am self teaching with the help of YouTube. I’ve also been studying spanish and french while we have been on quarantine. I figured, why not learn and make myself smarter during these times because “The measure of intelligence is the ability to change” as Albert Einstein said. During this time, I think it's about renewing myself and regaining peace of mind. Professor Vargas always told us to find at least one thing out of the day that is positive. I would encourage everyone else to do so as well. #WeAreAllINThisTogether.
